a cyber attack that could actually happen to the USA Review by Love
In this book, the cyber terror attack is so real, believable, and relevant to want could actually happen when a President and the Administration do not take any internet attack seriously by protecting our country.

He's not missing, he's hiding! Review by shelley
Like many people I'm sure, I've been waiting for this book to be released. As a politician Clinton has always been know for his speaking abilities and his skillful way of negotiating with other countries (re: twice negotiated with N Korea). I'm not sure who did the majority of the writing but this book did not reach my expectations.
I thought the writing got bogged down in it's descriptions of how the tech virus was introduced and how it all works. It got repetitive when explaining how not only computers won't work but also phones, refrigerators, home security and anything else that goes online. Then it's repeated with the addition of cash registers and looting etc. I had to turn the speed up to 1.5 because I started getting bored.
I know people are probably going to hate this review but honestly I think Jack Ryan (Clancy) would have been more decisive and would not have gone into hiding to waffle with a decision about how to deal with cyber terrorism.
I thought the cast of narrators did an excellent job.

A fable for our time Review by Larry Lynch
It would be interesting to know exactly how Bill Clinton and James Patterson collaborated on this book. Clearly Patterson's novelistic talents are evident along with Clinton's convictions and political savvy, and of course he is a good writer of nonfiction. The novel is a resounding success, a page-turner and an important cautionary tale for the US in today's hyper-dependent-on-technology world.

I could hear Bill Clinton's voice in the persona of the fictional president, Jonathan Lincoln Duncan (echo of William Jefferson Clinton?). It's a refreshing voice, unlike a certain strident voice we hear rather too much of these days. The events swirl around an all-too-possible catastrophic threat to the United States, with twists and turns to the end. The whole story is "straight out of today's headlines," as they say, and hard to put down. I wondered how good it could be given the unusual pair of authors, and I must say it's as good as it gets. I highly recommend this exciting novel, which should keep you on the edge of your seat.

Highly recommended. A great, entertaining read! But skip the political lecture tacked on at the end. Review by Ira
What I liked best was that I was surprised at how good and gripping the book was. I thought it would be a boring dud. After a slow so,so-start, it took up speed, and I could not put it down - read it almost straight through. Both authors talents and skills combined amazingly well, yet I could hear Clinton's voice coming through often. Worst part, Clinton's lecture at the end. Stopped reading at that point. Clearly Clinton had a deal that he could pontificate in one final section. As a avid reader of the genre, I read at least two books a week, but that last section was too much. I did not spend money on a political-culture lecture.

Excellent, thrilling, thought provoking Review by BestBookSales Customer
Once I started this novel I couldn't stop. It was well written and kept me turning pages devoting this story. It also made me think about what if this actually happened to America, and the chaos it would cause. Since we live in a technical world where everything is computers, it is something to think about and would me and my family be prepared to deal with it. Granted I was not born in the techie world of everything has to be read, seen, asap and I'm grateful for it. I highly recommend this book, and give deep thought to it, in this world we live in today it's a possibility.
I see a movie in the future for this book!

Not Really a Surprise Review by Unka Heshie
As one who gives minimalist reviews, I am tempted to do the opposite. But then, I might reveal the...

Okay, one of my three favorite presidents teamed up with one of my all-time favorite authors and no surprise, their book is a true page-burner. I simply couldn't put it down, no matter what time of day or night.

Great concept, tight plot line with just the right amount of twists and turns and strong characters across the board, makes for one of the best books I've read in years.

As an old TV commercial said, "Try it; you'll like it." No, folks...you will love it!

Surprisingly good Review by Andrew Kent
I don't read Patterson, and adding Clinton to the cover added to my reluctance. However, the reviews were surprisingly consistent and good, so I thought I'd at least wade in, if only for amusement. Well, two days of intense reading later, and I can say that the reviews are right -- the book is consistently good, with a propulsive plot, believable characters, a good balance of detail and pacing, and some cards played at the end that make it all come together nicely. While there is a quality of reveal to it that sometimes makes it feel a little too tidy for a minute or two, the pacing keeps you moving, and it's a great, fun read.

Very well done Review by PCox
1st book of Patterson's that I've read. Combined with Bill Clinton was just an added plus.
I started off figuring that they were using the current president as a model. I was partly right. Thank goodness I was correct in the proper way.
The President in this book so what a president ought to be!!! Concerned with the country's needs. NOT his party or big donor concerns. This man is smart, intelligent , courageous , strong minded. Those are just a few of his good points. The plot was well thought out and moved along at a good clip.
I truly enjoyed this book and will be looking into more of James Patterson's offerings. That is one of the highest recommendations I can give an author. I'm willing to spend more time with them. I can get money spent back, but you or I can never get back time spent. §P§

Bill Clinton turns out to be an excellent co - author for James Patterson Review by Fred H. Dimond
All of Jame Patterson’s books are good. This one is particularly entertaining.
I was skeptical of Bill Clinton’s involvement as a co – author, although he is known to devour fictional works like this
and is obviously a bright guy.
Regardless of where Bill Clinton starts and James Patterson ends, this collaberation works. Terrific story; well
told – with a very topical doomsday scenario. What is fictionalized here could happen, given the dependence of
our society on technology.
My question after reading “The President is Missing” is will Bill Clinton continue to be a co – author with James
Patterson? I hope so.

Intriguing Premise.... Review by BestBookSales Customer
Upfront I want to say that I am a voracious reader. I am on my Third Kindle since 2011....and I do not play games.
That being said....I am choosy about what I spend money on. I have read some of James Patterson's earlier books and I did read one of President Clinton's. So when they were on Steven Colbert's show talking about this book, I thought I'd get the sample chapters. I was drawn in immediately and purchased the book. I read for enjoyment mostly, on average 4-5 hours a day. So the premise of the President is Missing is that the press - and by reporting it - the public doesn't know where the President is. The characters were very believable, and I liked the insight to the people connected to the White House. I could see the input from President Clinton. Unless you are privy to the inner workings of the Presidency and political workings, this would not have been believable. Because I watched Designated Survivor, this book came alive for me. I thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend it.
Forget your political leaning...this could be any party's President, but the threat is universal. So, what I'd recommend is to get the sample and see if you want to spend the money on the book. Make up your own mind, don't be swayed by a good or bad review.
