Overall good, but hit and miss Review by TechBuyer87
Contained some gems that will change how I live. My biggest gripe is that the author brings up gender often, but she doesn't understand men and usually gets it wrong.

This book helps you personally, professionally, as a leader and as a parent. Her telling her own stories makes it an easy listen. You’ll laugh and cry!

Very Relevant Review by AC
This book is helping me to understand my feelings of confusion and dissatisfaction regarding my life. I admire Brene's courage to share such vulnerable stories. I am deeply grateful for her extensive research and and straight delivery of her findings. The book is lighthearted, despite the serious subject matter, and easy to listen to.

Gained Great Insight Review by Danielle
I've been struggling lately with the idea that I'm not enough. not pretty enough, smart enough, strong enough, sweet enough, assertive enough. etc. I felt conflicted with social media as the root cause of these insecurities but a feeling of missing out if I'm not a member. With a 12 year old son, do I want him on social media only to feel the pressures and feelings of unworthiness as his mom? No, of course not. My sister suggested this book to me, and I am forever grateful to her and to Brene Brown for the insights I gained from this book. I know now I can't control social media but I have control over my reaction and use of it. I can look at social media from a more empathetic stance recognizing that some people are showing their vulnerabilities on social media and mostly, i realized that I can choose how to interpret what I see. That we are a world full of these ideas that can crush ones daringness but I dont need to hide or be silent. I am excited to pass on these insights to my son and forever grateful for these new insights.

Brown's necessary call to vulnerability Review by Sean
Brown does a wonderful job of introducing the terms and concepts she is working with in a thorough, yet concise manner. I appreciated the effort she took in providing practical examples of what shame means and looks like to different people. At the end of the day, the book is a renewed call to authenticity, dignity and vulnerability and that's something we should all be able to get behind

Time doesn’t care when you become brave! Review by Wesley
Resonate with so much of this book and stories. Though we are all unique, the human condition is similar. I appreciate so much the “aha”moments and the feeling of encouragement and that it’s not to late for “abc” at the end.

Wonderful and insightful Review by Mia
The book is full of insightful narratives paired with amazing personal stories, which makes you think about your own life and how you can fully embrace a whole-hearted self. I would recommend this book if you enjoy reading and like more organized contents. However, I would strongly recommend listening to the Power of Vulnerability instead, which has similar content in a live talk format. It feels more like a conversation, as if she is directly addressing to you. The audio book experience of the Power of Vulnerability is wonderfully entertaining while being educational.

Changed my life Review by Justin
This book literally changed my life (along with some other circumstances already happening... before and since). I was so thrilled to see it available narrated by Dr. Brown this time, because it just feels so much more real and easier to digest from her rather than a professional narrator.

I highly recommend reading "The Gifts of Imperfection" as well before going on to Rising Strong and Braving the Wilderness. There is also a recorded seminar she did called "The Power of Vulnerability" which is a great introduction to everything as well.
