Very realistic and maybe a little too close to current events for comfort. I couldn't wait for the next chapter. Binge listened on a cross country flight today, and was not disappointed. This story was well written, I enjoyed the multiple narrators for the converging storylines.
Interesting tell. The reading took away from the story. The commentary in the speech at the end made me take away a star. Fiction is for entertainment leave the politics out. No real signs of James Patterson.
Can Bill and James start a series?!? I need so much more of this in my life! Quaid was amazing! LaVoy is always a pleasure, Ganim, Davidson, and MarnĂ² were an amazing accompaniment.
This Thriller is fantastic. Well worth the credit. The opening scene is gripping, has you clenching your teeth, getting behind this president as he is attacked by political foe's. Then Patterson (probably) deftly compounds the presidents precarious situation with health issues (real life right). Clinton (obviously) serves up genuine insight into todays political climate, shit us 9-5ers never think about. Thank you Bill for that insight it was enlightening. About two hours in the president makes a decision that most humans can't even comprehend and he orders a strike that is sure to kill innocent children as collateral damage. Next you're gonna laugh out loud as he tries to drive a car. About five hours in and another barbarian at the gate while the others haven't been resolved yet, just continues to add to the insurmountable mountain that the president of the united states must face every day (all enemy's foreign and domestic right). Great line "Is there anything else Madam Vice President" will make your neck hair stand up. This book gives you much more respect for the office of the president and has a way of making your own personal complaints about the U.S. seem petty. Every single sentence in this book advances the plot and is gripping. THERE is NO fluff. Thanks Bill and James nicely done. Performance Dennis Quaid is Dennis Quaid, he did a great job (4 stars) would have loved his performance if he didn't do FBI Liz, but Dennis and the cast were still great.

I wasn't sure what to expect. I got this book because I love James Patterson's work, and because of the media hype about this title. I am not a huge fan of politics, but this was so well done that I had no trouble keeping up. The narrators are perfect; I could not stop listening! Hoping I can get my non-reader Husband to listen to this one!!
I don't usually write reviews. I just enjoy things and move on. This one deserves a moment of my time to share how much I appreciate it. I am seeing a number of reviewers who question the realism of the circumstances in the story, the performance of Dennis Quaid, and even the involvement of Bill Clinton (Whom, I should add, I personally respect greatly. There is probably a bias here).
This story seems very well designed. I enjoyed the performance, and I connected well with the challenges that each character faces. Also, I'm a writer too and it has taught me a few lessons about how to improve myself. Clinton and Patterson did a great job.
Don't let bad reviewers fool you, it's a good story. Some people will simply hate things to be divisive for the sake of being divisive. At worst, it would make sense for someone to give it a 4-star review unless they are aliens trying to convince you that they are definitely-totally normal humans.
the narration by DQ was spotty at best. should have gotten someone else. the other narrators were much better. the storyline/plot was strong although Too Preachy in places.
