Girl, Wash Your Face: Stop Believing the Lies About Who You Are So You Can Become Who You Were Meant to Be With wry wit and hard-earned wisdom, popular online personality and founder of Rachel Hollis helps listeners break free from the lies keeping them from the joy-filled and exuberant life they are meant to have.

Founder of the lifestyle website and CEO of her own media company, Chic Media, Rachel Hollis has created an online fan base of hundreds of thousands of fans by sharing tips for living a better life while fearlessly revealing the messiness of her own. Now comes her highly anticipated first book featuring her signature combination of honesty, humor, and direct, no-nonsense advice.

Each chapter of Girl, Wash Your Face begins with a specific lie Hollis once believed that left her feeling overwhelmed, unworthy, or ready to give up. As a working mother, a former foster parent, and a woman who has dealt with insecurities about her body and relationships, she speaks with the insight and kindness of a BFF, helping women unpack the limiting mind-sets that destroy their self-confidence and keep them from moving forward.

From her temporary obsession with marrying Matt Damon to a daydream involving hypnotic iguanas to her son's request that she buy a necklace to "be like the other moms", Hollis holds nothing back. With unflinching faith and tenacity, Hollis spurs other women to live with passion and hustle and to awaken their slumbering goals.

Unrelatable unless you’re a wealthy married Christian woman Review by Joe Lupo
This book sounded like seven hours of the author bragging about her virtues, with the occasional anecdote that highlights her very privileged and Christian lifestyle.

Girl, no. Review by Michelle Beretowski
Nothing really inspirational about this book at all. It had a handful (from what I could finish listening to) of funny/ interesting moments but If you're not a mom, need to hear something more than "you can do it" to get motivated, or the idea ofl istening to a privileged white woman modestly brag about her life with celebrities sounds annoying to you then just don't even bother.

So incredibly privileged Review by Maison Green
Two words.
White. Privilege. It's unfortunate, as the author had a decent "self help" premise, but she ignores the realities of her societal privileges.

great book, recommend listening to it Review by Heather W.
listening this book was like being at a great motivational speech. Even though maybe I didn't agree with every single thing the author talked about, I got so many great points, and really great ideas of where to start making changes that I want to make for myself. Very inspiring, I'm going out to Take On The World now!

Thought it would be pro woman, until the fat shame Review by AsiaKief
The book was semi decent, until it essentially ended in a rampage of yelling about treating yourself like shit. I think it was maybe intended to mean that you should take care of yourself and nurture your body, but it came across more as when you prioritize yourself, you won't be fat. I found that disappointing since many times in her book she tries to relate to her audience by sharing her own struggles with weight loss and body image.

Girl, Shut Your Face! Review by Stevilynn Tom
I am a super busy mama and I roll my eyes when I hear a mama say they are reading a great book or just finished a book. I think to myself how in the... do you find time to do that. So I found bestbooksales on Google. Girl I deep cleaned my kitchen and front room for two days while listening to this book and finished it in those two days. I cried when I finished because I couldn’t believe I finished a book in TWO days and everyone survived and I still got things done and homeschooled. And not just any book but a book I SOOOOO desperately needed to hear. I laughed out loud, I cried out loud and I yelled out loud. This book will be a monthly go to for a reminder of who I am and who I can become. I’m so thankful to have found a way to read this book. Super life changing.

Life changing Review by Danielle
I am a 44 year old pastors wife and mom to 4 amazing children and this book has been life changing for me. I had been feeling like I’m too old to have dreams or to do anything new but this book has encouraged me to dream bigger and not limit myself. There are a few books that I listen to on audible and think “well, that was nice” but there are others that I will listen to again AND have to purchase the hard copy to highlight my favorite parts and revisit. This book is one that I have both! Rachel, thank you for being vulnerable and putting these words on pages for us to read! ❤️

Great read for any woman Review by Edward
This book was a book that I never wanted to stop listening to it. When I realized I only had 33 more minutes I hesitated listening to it in hopes that it would last longer. The author touched my soul in so many different ways that I did not know a book could do. She was so open and honest. She was relatable and I felt like I personally knew her through out the entire story. Thank you for writing this book and helping me realize my full potential and showing me that I can reach a goal that I create.

Girl, Read this Book: It's Awesome Review by Justine
Loved it. I don't consider myself a religious person. There are some religious parts to Rachel's book, but they are fairly brief and don't sound "preachy"--she just includes parts of the Bible that stood out or inspired the her. It's easy to understand her perspective and relate it to your own life. I loved how open and honest she was--ladies this book is a must read.

Didn't know it was a Christian book Review by casey warner
This book has some decent points and the author seems likable. It seems like a perfect book for privileged white women who go to church and are overwhelmed by life and children. I definitely got something out of it but it was not to my taste.

Life Changer Review by Christian
I started following Rachel about two years ago after the birth of my third child. But it was at the end of 2016 which had been a rather difficult year for me and my family but most particularly me as I was in a season of being lost.. I had lost sight of who I was. Who I was as a wife, a mother and most of all who I was to myself.. It was when I was in that season that Rachel started her new year do you morning live streams, and I happened to stumble across one as I sipped my morning coffee and scrolled through facebook as you do at 5 am (because my kids are 5 amers by nature but I however am not). That day sent me on a journey that has not been easy and not been graceful but a journey I needed. I don’t have anyone in my life to remind me. Remind me of who I am and what I’m good at, to hold up the mirror and say girl you’ve got this. So for me that’s who Rachel is and that is what this book is.. So if you don’t have anyone to hold up the mirror for you, to remind you, or to just say girl you got this or even if you do you should read this book!!

More for women who are mothers Review by MeredithNCSU girl
I did enjoy this book. much of the content spoke to me, woke me up, encouraged me to take control of my life and take action on my goals and dreams. My only real criticism is that there were a lot of times that I felt like I just couldn't relate, at all, or really follow along because it was so focused on being a good mother. I am not a mother and have chosen not to be one. More power to those that do! I salute you!!! If you're a mama and need some guidance and encouragement... this book is bomb!!! But for me, I got bored with the stories. Call me a terrible person... her testimony of her experiences were gripping but they didn't resonate with me... so I lost interest for a great deal of the book. However, overall I enjoyed it and will likely listen to it again, I'll just skip through the parts that don't speak to me. I loved the author's voice both physically as she read and in her story to call to action you living in your truth and speaking it too.

Wow, great read, Loved it!!! Review by Jennifer Kujawa
This is my first experience with Rachel Hollis, I have honestly never heard of her or her other book. It was an easy read and I completely connected with it. Loved it!!

Good for the right audience Review by meghan
This book was recommended by a friend so I didn't read about it before downloading. It felt way more Christian than anything I would choose to read and for me personally that took away from the experience. That being said the authors approach to her faith and the beliefs of others was genuine and inclusive which I wholeheartedly respect. In the realm of self help or support type books this one felt a little cliche and basic but good for the right audience. I am happy to support any woman speaking her truth and hoping to empower others.

Take what you like from this and leave the rest. Review by BestBookSales customer
I was left extremely inspired and motivated after listening to this book. However, there were many points throughout it where I rolled my eyes and almost shut it off. If you aren't fond of preachiness or being called "sister" or "y'all" every few minutes, this may not be for you. However, if you can overlook that, there are still SO many pearls of wisdom scattered throughout this book. Much of it is pretty common sense wisdom you can find in quotes on Pinterest, BUT having it all in one inspirational book is just lovely. I would definitely recommend this book to any woman I know needing a good pep talk!

Touching and REAL Review by Tonya Rake
I absolutely LOVED this book! I love the emotion and love that you can hear in the author's voice and how authentic she is. It truly has planted a seed in me to get back up and take back my life after losing my Mom. I highly suggest this book, as she touches on many of REAL LIFE struggles many of us face, and that she has fought through and come out the other side stronger and better... and so can we!!!

Every woman should read this book. Review by Mindy Pool
Okay, first I’m not going to lie this was an eye opened book for me and I want to think every women could walk away with something from it. Weather it be one topic you relate to or for me, one of the many is “other peoples opinion is none of your business.” I wish I would had known this information when I lost my mom 3 years ago. You can never be fully prepared for everything in life, but taking what matters to me away from this book will help me. I will listen to the book again, and probably again after that. Rach, I love that you had shared so much personal information that many can relate to. You are truly inspiring. I encourage every women to buy this book and read it, you will take away something from it. #girlwashyourface
