Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid, is now here, and it ROCKS. Literally. The story centers on the meteoric rise of a rock band in the '70s and its lead singers, Daisy Jones and Billy Dunne, whose connection is as electric as the music they make together. It’s sex, drugs, and rock ‘n roll, people!! And the very best part?! Hello Sunshine is turning this into a TV show with Amazon Studios...so stay tuned for more updates!" (Reese Witherspoon)

A gripping novel about the whirlwind rise of an iconic 1970s rock group and their beautiful lead singer, revealing the mystery behind their infamous breakup.

Daisy is a girl coming of age in LA in the late '60s, sneaking into clubs on the Sunset Strip, sleeping with rock stars, and dreaming of singing at the Whisky a Go Go. The sex and drugs are thrilling, but it’s the rock ’n’ roll she loves most. By the time she’s 20, her voice is getting noticed, and she has the kind of heedless beauty that makes people do crazy things. Also getting noticed is The Six, a band led by the brooding Billy Dunne. On the eve of their first tour, his girlfriend Camila finds out she’s pregnant, and with the pressure of impending fatherhood and fame, Billy goes a little wild on the road. Daisy and Billy cross paths when a producer realizes that the key to supercharged success is to put the two together. What happens next will become the stuff of legend.

The making of that legend is chronicled in this riveting and unforgettable novel, written as an oral history of one of the biggest bands of the '70s. Taylor Jenkins Reid is a talented writer who takes her work to a new level with Daisy Jones & The Six, brilliantly capturing a place and time in an utterly distinctive voice.

Fantastic! Review by Tanya D
I have started and not finished so many books lately. To top it all off I was growing wary of Reese's book club picks because January and February were such snooze-fests; but alas, third time is the charm. All hail March!

I am not sure how this book looks in print, but I have seen quite a few comments about the interview format (in print) and how it doesn't work for everyone, so I am so glad I chose to listen to this one and would highly recommend it. It is absolutely fantastic. The narration is done with a full cast, and they embody their characters SO well, it's like your listening to legit interviews. The guy who narrates Eddie is bang-on, he sounds exactly like you think Eddie would based on his character. The narrators aren't just reading a book, they become their characters.

I can't wait for the mini-series. I want to listen to the music of the book so bad. I love how Taylor Jenkins Reid (much like she did in Evelyn Hugo) can make a fictional character so real, that you feel like you have to go google them immediately. Her writing style is just so addictive, and I have to say I LOVE the format. The author writes in this perfect combo of gossipy yet complex, that makes you unable to stop devouring it.

The other strong features of this book are definitely the humour and the unapologetic feminism. The way the characters are remembering certain events, but obviously remembering them differently made me laugh out loud several times. For example when they are talking about how I think Eddie but I could be wrong, had the only bedroom with a bathroom in it. The subsequent line was one of my favourites haha. Thanks Taylor Jenkins Reid for getting me out of another reading slump!
